This article reviews our top 5 picks for making AI generated content sound more human. We've included GPTs for paraphrasing, marketing, copywriting and long form content. Come check out our top choice!

Writes about AI and other stuff.
Feb 2, 2024

In this article we will be testing out a few handpicked GPTs from our library designed to humanize AI generated content that can hopefully make your content a bit more…human, or at least human-sounding.

AI generated content scattered throughout the World Wide Web is at an all time high, and there are currently few signs of a slowdown. We understand that you can only share an idea so much that it becomes a remix of everything. So it makes sense that a vast selection of paraphrasing tools are already available in the AI space.

You might be wondering if the content generated with these GPTs can be detected. Well, AI detectors are subject to some controversy. On the one hand, there are many out there, including OpenAI, that claim no detectors can reliably distinguish human and AI-written text. On the other, there are tools out there which claim their detectors really work such as Originality.ai, and judging by their rigorous tests, that seems quite believable. If you’re concerned about your content coming across as original, I would take it through a spin with Originality. For the purpose of this article, however, I’ll only focus on these GPTs as a fun way to add a bit of human flair to your content, rather than testing which one is best at bypassing AI detection (that’s a topic for another article!).

Here are the GPTs up for review:

1. Humanizer V2.3 (by GB) - The top all-around humanizer

2. Quill - Good for long-form content

3. The Kopywriter - Specialized in copywriting

4. Paraphrase AI - Paraphrase your content in any voice

5. Humanizer Pro - The most human-like paraphraser

For example’s sake, we will be using this AI-generated article throughout this GPT list to test our magical GPTs.

Alright, now that’s everything set and ready, we can begin testing each GPT.

Our top choice: Humanizer V2.3 (by GB)

The GPTs we reviewed have one common goal; to make AI generated content be more human.

Humanizer V2.3 is our top pick on this list!

This GPT gets bonus points for not just paraphrasing; rather, it aims to write a story around your writing and actually make it engaging and fun to read!

You can humanize any article right off the bat with a few simple prompts. You do not need a comprehensive prompt to get things going for you.

1. Humanizer V2.3 (by GB) - An All-Around Paraphraser

Made by Gajs Barels, this GPT makes AI-generated text feel more like it was written by a real person. It has personality (also an attitude) It does so by sprinkling in cool phrases and experimenting with sentence lengths and style. Sometimes it even throws in a few of those little errors (double spaces and grammar hiccups) we all make when we're typing away.

Here’s how you can start using it!

Let’s start off with a prompt:

"Can you humanize this article to include personal stories or imaginary scenarios that illustrate how individuals from various professions might experience the introduction of AI into their workplace. Emphasize the emotional journey, including fears, hopes, and the eventual adaptation, to humanize the impact of AI on jobs."

What we like about this GPT is it rewrote the article and made it sound like ‘friendly advice’. It’s profound, it’s touching, and it made the article ‘relatable’ by providing personable and engaging stories.

The formality has also been dialed down to make it easier to read. The Humanizer V2.3 excels at adding warmth and personality to dry or technical content; which can be a HUUGE deal for readability and accessibility.

Here’s its best use cases:

1. If you want to make your writing more engaging (and less robotic)

2. If your content is complex and full of jargon, then you can use it to simplify and make the topic seem approachable.

3. If you require more of that ‘human-flair’ for your AI-generated content.

Did you notice what this GPT did to the article? It carved out an entire story out of it to make it more palatable and actually fun to read.

How about limits? Well, as you noticed in the writing, it tends to high-key let go of the ‘technical’ side of things. The topic given was niche and specialized, but the article produced by this GPT spoke more on the impacts on an emotional and inspirational level; not on its technicality. So we’re assuming that this GPT struggles with technical content that doesn’t translate well with a casual tone (knowing full well that AI has its fair share of jargon and technical whatnot).

2. Quill - Perfect for long-form content

Made by Josh Brent Villocido, Quill is a GPT trained to write blog posts like a human. This GPT is specially made to write engaging and informative articles.

Ready to start this one off?

Let’s start off with a different prompt, but using the same article.

“Rewrite and humanize this article by drawing comparisons between the introduction of AI and past technological advancements, such as the internet or the start of the digital age. Highlight how humanity adapted to these changes, emphasizing resilience and innovation, to provide a humanized perspective on adapting to AI.”

As you can see in Quill’s output, its strength lies in turning an idea into a fully fleshed-out blog post. It gets the topic (of your request)  at its core and writes around it; not the topic provided. It’s perfect if you’re trying to inform, entertain, or persuade your audience to any given topic.

Here’s its best use cases:

  1. It’s a good brainstorming partner. Well, we entirely skipped this in our test because we already have a topic ready. But if you’re starting from scratch or already have an idea that you want to expand on, try Quill to help you generate headlines, themes, or outlines that give your thoughts some semblance of structure.
  2. If you already have a draft, Quill can give that sparkle your content needs making your content both enjoyable and engaging.
  3. It’s a bit double edged, but Quill can’t surf the web in real-time. However it can provide insights based on topics it does know and guide you on structuring content that's both accurate and compelling.

We think Quill is a bit behind the curve as it can’t surf the web in real-time. So if you’re writing something that requires the latest news or accurate data, or if you’re writing something specialized or niche,  then Quill might not be the perfect fit.

3. The Kopywriter - Specialized in copywriting

Created by Ihtesham Ali, this human-like GPT is made for effective and engaging copywriting tasks. It focuses on understanding your goals, brand identity, and the unique aspects of your copy (or campaign) through detailed questions. It applies the best practices for copywriting and techniques to ensure the content your crafting hits all the right spots.

Now let’s take this GPT for a spin, shall we? The article we prepped for all the listed GPTs isn’t exactly a marketing material, so let’s turn it into an awareness campaign starting with long-form content..

“You are a campaign manager for an ad agency. The agency’s goal is to eradicate the growing fears that AI might replace jobs and other professions in the next coming years. I need you to rewrite and humanize the article I will be supplying you to portray AI not as a replacement for human jobs but as a partner that enhances human productivity..

Include examples of AI-assisted roles where human workers achieve more with AI support, highlighting the relationship between human creativity and AI.”

Alright, The Kopywriter isn’t exactly made for writing articles, it’s actually tailored more towards copywriting tasks and short form content; these can be two different worlds.

For example if you are developing something for your brand, this GPT is decent for marketing and short messaging. It develops a clear and impactful message to capture your audience’s attention.

So for example’s sake, let’s try to create a caption that aims to promote this article. Let’s just say that the promotion will happen on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn, X, and Threads.

This GPT is decent when it comes to marketing copy. It’s especially useful in creating:

  • Publication materials
  • Website content
  • Ad copy
  • Email Marketing
  • Newsletters
  • Campaigns
  • Social Media Campaigns

Kopywriter is decent at marketing copy, but we think it lacks a bit of that sweet, persuasive human touch. After all, copywriting at its core is all about emotion and connecting with your audience. It’s not as warm and persuasive as Quill and Humanizer V2.3, but to be fair it could also just be our material not translating well to promotional copy.

It also needs a bit more guidance before you get to the output you want. So if you tell this GPT that something is not working, it might need extra details to understand how to fix it.

4. Paraphrase AI - Paraphrase your content in any voice

This GPT specializes in paraphrasing and humanizing AI-generated content. So whether you’re using ChatGPT, Jasper, hell, maybe even Quillbot, Paraphrase AI can be a great companion. Like any other humanizer GPT, this can help you rephrase blocks of text in a more human-like manner, making it sound more natural or fit a specific style of writing and tone.

So since Paraphrase AI is a GPT with one singular purpose, let’s just try to muster all the creativity we have in the prompt. Let’s begin.

“I need you to paraphrase an article for me. I will be providing you the article, and I want you to write it like how Deadpool would write it. So just for a bit of context, Deadpool is known as the ‘merc with a mouth’. He is Marvel’s favorite anti-hero. Deadpool is known for his unstable mental state. He often breaks the fourth wall (talking directly to his audience).  He is famous for his sarcastic, talkative nature, often using humor and pop culture references and his  irreverent and unpredictable behavior is the hallmark of his character and I need you to embody that.

Please note that I still want the full substance of the article provided. Please do not generate an article that’s all fluff and references. Give me your best shot.”

[Insert article]

So that’s the good thing with singularity. This GPT has one job, and it is damn good at what it does. I gave it the article, I gave it my instructions and it did a fine job taking the meat of the article while staying true to my instruction. The core idea is intact and it came out with a ‘fresh’ look.

Let’s talk strengths:

  1. It’s perfect if you have an idea but are not quite sure how you want to say it. Imagine having your content sound like GaryVee, Dan Koe, A Jedi Warrior, and in our case, Deadpool. Now that’s cool..
  2. If you have technical content, then this can be a great tool if you want to create it with a different voice. You get to appeal to a new audience without losing the context of what you want to write about.
  3. If you feel like your creative juices are running on fumes, this GPT can offer a new perspective on your writing with the tonality alone.

Now its limitations, one of the big things that irked us is that this GPT has a low word limit.

See the full conversation here

While it does a good job at paraphrasing text, it’s not good at adding new information or insights outside of the original context of the article provided . So you will have to use a bit more effort (and brains) for this GPT. Additionally, while it’s fun to read, it still generates some fluff from time to time.

5. Humanizer Pro - The most human-like paraphraser

Humanizer Pro is unsurprisingly designed to humanize AI-generated content. Much like Paraphrase AI, it also just comes with one functionality - to paraphrase. It ensures every part of the copy provided is processed without any changes in context or tonality.

Let’s try it out!

This GPT is designed to act like a human writer (and it’s good at it). Its job is to make AI-generated content feel more natural and easy to read. Which I appreciate as it does a really good job. I felt the smooth transition and the fine change of tone in the final output.

What’s its best use cases?

  1. It does a great job at making formal content sound more conversational.
  2. In terms of adding that ‘human’ touch to AI Generated content, this GPT does an almost perfect job.
  3. While it expands text, it transforms your texts to something that’s more organic and easier to digest..

But here’s the kicker, the free version is very limited in terms of text length. It only allowed me to paraphrase a few sentences.

It took me about 6 retries, and I had to shorten the given copy over and over again. You won’t be able to paraphrase a full article on the get go. The current word limit is around <1000 characters, which is really low.

You’ll have to pay $12/month to access the full power of Humanizer Pro. You can check for more details here. If you’re interested.

Time to try for yourself!

Now that we’ve introduced you to 5 dedicated GPTs that you can use to humanize your AI generated content, we think it’s about time you go and explore these tools for yourself. See what works, and see what suits your style best.

But always remember, paraphrasing tools for AI content can only get you so far. At the end of the day, it’s always the value you serve and the problems you solve that makes your writing stand out in a sea of AI content.

So go forth and get to writing! See you on the next one!
